How long did your clutch last??
So the clutch just died on my 2004 A4 with only 83000km on it. It seams really soon to me. How long did the clutch last on your A4???? Im curious how long peoples clutches usually last.

Re: How long did your clutch last??
Hey, the clutch can last a very long time if the car is driven correctly. I have a 150K on my 2003 A4 and the clutch is still perfect. 83K is really low, do you ride the clutch a lot?

Re: How long did your clutch last??
Well unfortunatly i have only owned the car since 69k so I cant really speak for the previous owner. My first car (92 honda accord) has 260+km on the original clutch so i dont think its my driving style. Anyone else had thier clutch go early on in the life?

Re: How long did your clutch last??
previous driver killed it for you. With an A4 you can not just change the clutch. you need to change the pressure plate too. Any transmission place will know what to do. DO NOT let them just "sand it down" your clutch will die in 20k.

Re: How long did your clutch last??
Mine's got 110k on it and my clutch is rough. Starting is rocky and shifting into second (and first from second at a light) can sometimes be a chore. I've had it slip out a couple times during shift into second. And no, I'm no rookie, I've driven standard since before I had my licence. Sometimes it is totally fine though, I don't understand it. It's like when you start it up it's alright, but once you hit a light after it's warmed up it's rougher, and sometimes it's rough when colder and better hot. Got no idea what's goin on there.
Thinking about getting a Stage 2 or something so I can go BT. Let me know what you decide to do, so I have an idea of price for the b6. I'm assuming roughly 1g for clutch and install, correct me if I'm wrong.
