Default Hood Strut

After looking around on ECS tuning and the internet after my hood strut gave out and the hood fell on me and not wanting to spend $40 plus shipping for one from ECS I measured the strut under the hood and went to Princess Auto. $22 with tax and I was out the door.

Not sure if this applys to the B7 but it worked on my B6 perfectly. Princess Auto part # is 8380461 and its 28" hopefully this saves some people some cash, its super easy to install, under 2 min total.

Thxs for the Princess Auto hood strut info.
I also buy my wiper blades there (Kleerview, exactly the same as Audi, but half the price, just need to change the mounting clips).

Hey Johnny are the wiper blades a refill thing or are they the whole wiper? Have replaced mine with a refill, but getting very poor wipe from them.

Hey Dave & G-rae,
Wipers at Princess Auto (Kleerview) are easy to adapt.
The Kleerview has a plastic clip centre mount and the Audi OEM has an aluminum clip.
Take a small screwdriver and ease of the centre plastic clip from the new blade.
Same screwdriver, ease the the aluminum clip from the old OEM blade.
Then snap fit the new blade into the OEM old clip. You may have to lightly squeeze the clip onto the new blade.
Tip: don't squeeze it too hard otherwise you will get a drag area in the middle of the blade.
If you do get the drag, lightly ease off the clip pressure with the screwdriver, with the trick of enough to pressure to hold the blade in.
Hey presto! New blades, half the price!
