HELP: strange noise and loss of power on A4 b6 V6
Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to this site and I'm having this big issue on my engine:
First thing first: I have a 2003 B6 A4 with the 3.0 V6 engine
past a certain RMP, around 4000 RPM I'm getting this strange noise coming straight from the engine, sounds like something broken/loose is having fun inside the engine compartment... I'm also having a big lack of power. If I let go the pedal, the noise is still present at idle RPM.
If I turn the engine off and start again everything seems to be fine, I didn't try to drive it around yet since I'm thinking that something big is broken. No lights at all in the dash indicatind either a lack of oil pressure, low oil, low water etc...
Last thing I remember doing for maintenance is oil change and power steering top up. I used Factory liquid for the power steering, and I'm using 5W40 Lubro Moly with Bosch filter for engine oil.
After reading forum here and there I can suspect either the water pump, oil pump, or tensioner to be gone somewhere on the timing belt.
Last time the water pump/timing belt was changed it was at around 120 000 km, I'm curently at 199 000 km
Any ideas/suggestions?????
