Help deciding on 2003 A4 Quattro 1.8T or 3.0L
Hey guys...
I'm trying to decide between a 2003 A4 Quattro 1.8T or 3.0L with around 100km on it. It will be my daily driver, I only work a few km from home. I do not plan on upgrading it at all.
I might be purchasing this through the Auto Auction. If there are no maintenance records available there any way to check to see if the TB has been done or not? I understand this might be an important item not to overlook, considering the mileage.
Any other advice would be appreciated as well.
Thanks in advance!

If you buying it with 100km on it I would suggest a 3.0L. The reason is for the 6cycl engine. 100km is too much for a turbo!! Problems are most likley to arise! Good luck!

Timing belt is definitly one to look at. Benifit of the doubt there are some people that go 200k without doing it...but i would only suggest that or chancing that if you were the only owner of the car. The 3.0 is a good engine, the 1.8 can be more "finiky" depends on what you want. i would say go drive each at a dealership and go with what you like more. after all, your the one driving it.

I've been driving the 2004 3.0 for a month now. Audi newbie. Loved it from the moment I stepped in for a test drive. I can't speak for the 1.8, but I was faced with the same decision and opted for the V6 with no regrets. Best of luck!
