euro spec ecu?
hi guys i was wondering if a euro spec ecu from a b6 1.8t will work in my b6 1.8t
the reason for asking is that the euro's came with 225(bhp) hp in england....i can get the ecu for free...along with the injectors....just wondering if i can plug in play?
and if not, what would be involved? to make it work, i have a manual boost controller hooked up as we speak set to 14 psi.....i dont want to go crazy with hp #'s but i just want a bit more umph!
thanks in advance

A scan of that controller is required to acquire the ECM coding
The original coding will be needed to be adapted to the Euro ECM. That will only work if the controller was designed for your system.
As for added power, the Engine Management System relies on the installed parts like: cams, exhaust, MAF, turbo model and compression ratio.
It would be less expensive to flash and you'll maintain the Immobilizer to fit your model.

Re: euro spec ecu?
thanks for all the replies!
icemanGER...could you also help with some fine tuning?
i also have a Baily's dump valve from the UK (blows to atmos.)
denso ik22 gapped to 0.026"
diode 4.3v
and boost set to approx 14 psi
and a KnN in factory air box
i find the cars seems to run on the rich side
ive cleaned the mass air, intake temp sensor, new coil packs ( 3rd set)
185 xxx km's
thanks again !
