Engine may have been replaced without carfax saying so!!!
Sup all. thanks for all the help akula , 1move etc. My buddy which works at the vw/audi dealer seems to think that my car is the same one which was at the dealership he worked. They couldnt sell it because it needed a new engine so the dealer that I bought it from that specializes in hummer, cadillac, mitsubishi and subaru dropped a new engine in it and sold it to me. Since the car fax said nothing and they said nothing of the replacement it is against the law. a felony i believe. I am going to the audi dealer to run the VIN # and see if anything pops up. Everything from the 2 cat converters, CAM seal oil leak, timing belt service, and 02 sensors has been finished and the car runs awesome now. However if my engine has been replaced id like to know the mileage and why kelly cadillac didnt tell me abought the replacement. Anyone have any ideas what to do or look for? I want this car to be in great shape for many many years. Thanks a lot any comments at all will be cool.

good luck with all that it be nice to have a brand new engine. but I highly doubt that that was done. I would not have any idea how you can figure it out???? what did your buddy say the issues were with it when they had it serviced??? can your buddy run a maintenace car check if he works at the dealer with the vin #??? I would start there and see if it was the same car

Yeah for right now all I know is that they couldnt sell the car at the vw/audi dealer due to the engine needing to be replaced. So this other dealership which I got the car from did the replacement. I have to wait until tuesday to run the VIN. I will then get a copy of it to take to Kelly Cadillac if it is the same car. Since we do not have many audi's in Chattanooga Tennessee I think it is the same car, but we shall see.
I have a strange question>>>>> Are there any fluids used in Audi's or cars in general that smell like cat spray? Either there are or the fu cking jealous cats my mom owns next door are spraying my damn car. Its right on the grill aligned with the fog lights. It smells just like cat spray but might be leaking something. Thanks for any help!

Not sure if this would work but it's worth a try...
Record your VIN and Engine Serial number. Connect with someone from Audi to see if they can compare the numbers to when the car was shipped new. Most major vehicle components have serial numbers to trace them back to the original car.
If the engine was changed, I would question whether it was new. A new engine would be very expensive so it may have been a used engine. If so, what was the used engine mileage? You may even be able to trace the used engine's serial number back to the engine donor car's VIN to find out engine mileage.
Good Luck!
