sorry to keep posting - but if it is the CV, how long can you drive it before it needs to get fixed?

Sounds like I have a similar problem. I would like to know what was wrong with yours.

The problem with my car is the front driver side bearing. Now, I'm just waiting for the quote.

My Mechanic called back. Upon further inspection, my car is fine. The culprit is my Dunlop Sport Maxx tires that have less than 50% tread left.

Last time they were rotated was in May of 2010.

The sound is consistent with speed and does not seem to get any louder when cornering or turning the wheel.

I have not checked the CV boot.

Yes, I no longer have visions of my wheel coming off and passing me on the highway.

I have a noise comming from the front part of the car... sounds like a rubbing noise.. same noise when driving straight or turning.. & I guess it's a little louder when driving faster. Could that be the same problem as you have?

Yes, it sounds similar. My sound was more like loud road noise rather than a rubbing sound, but get it check out.
