Does the flasher light stay red after you turn car off?
sup all? I noticed that when I turn off my car the hazard light stays a faint red. I was just wondering if I need to take the fuse out and put it back in. I don't want that to eat my battery even though it is a small backlight. So should the red triangle go off or what? Thanks a lot

Hey,
You have the car as myself...a B5. I also thought maybe something was wrong but if you wait a few minutes...it automatically turns off. I think i sat in there timing it once...took somewhere between 5-10 mins...maybe it stays on for emergency purposes like after an accident or something...don't know for sure...but it does turn off by itself.

I am in the same boat. The four way flasher in my a4 has been glowing forever even after I turn off and lock the car. I thought it would eventually go off after a few minutes, but it never did. I had flat battery twice already due to this. Please helpp

On my B6 & B7 the hazard warning switch light turns on when you open the door and the interior lights turn on. The interior lights and hazard stay on for about 30 secs after the door closes and then both turn off.

Mine was glowing forever until about three days ago when it fixed itself. I am so confused now..
As I mentioned, I had a flat battery three weeks ago. From then I started to disconnect the negative cable from the car battery just to avoid getting flat battery the next day. I was trying to figure out what had caused the four was flasher switch to glow intermittently even after locking the car for hours.
Surprisingly it stopped glowing about three days ago, and last night I decided to leave the battery connected. This morning the car started fine and no problem... I am suspecting that there is a weak wiring connection somewhere in the car... any suggestion??
thanks
