I would go with stock the stock manufacturer is Valeo costs about $400 vs the usual $300 you pay for a good kit, I would compare your headlight housing part # with a xenon housing part #, I did not know they came with projectors though even if they were not xenons......good to know props Chaos

i think i bought my kit for something close to 200 i bought a few for diffrent cars do i dont remember but i screwed myself over because i got a kit with a relay harness and now i get a dumb burnt out headlight warning everytime i turn my headlights on but next week im doin my fogs so i will get a diffrent kit for my hadlights aswell unless i figure sumthing else out lol so dont get one with a fancy relay harness. Like 1move said it depends on the quality of the kit i have seen kits from as low as 80 to 500. If your going to get a kit try to get one thats digital and has slim ballasts they make mounting so much easier.

The Canadian B5 S4 came with halogen Valeo Projector headlight assemblies and halogen H7 bulbs. Upgraded to true OE HID system using OE Valeo Euro HID Housings with OE Audi HID Ballasts and OE D2S HID bulbs. Note the projector lenses deceptively look the same but the lighting cutoff is different, definitely sharper cutoff with the HID assemblies. Some people have trimmed HID bulb / Halogen socket mounting tabs and installed a HID bulb system in a halogen headlight assembly so it can be done, but obviously you won't have the clean HID cutoffs from true HID projector headlight assemblies. One person wrote an AW tech article on making custom plates for adjusting the halogen projector cutoff when using a HID bulb system to some success.

This is my experience for B5, not sure if same is true for B6 and onward. Also caution as *some* advertising of "H7 HIDs" is misleading as what they are promoting is HID Color from an aftermarket non-Xenon bulb intended to run on a halogen lighting system (no HID ballasts).

When the kit is installed, do you lose your high beam option?
