Do i really need to use 91 octane Gasoline

Re: Do i really need to use 91 octane Gasoline
Modern Audi engines have knock sensor(s) and will feedback to have ECU adjust timing accordingly to prevent knock including with power reducing low octane fuels. I doubt anyone will ever hear knock with 87.
In addition to maximum performance, the other big advantage of 91 or higher octane is that the engine runs cleaner and cats last longer. No Audi owner is doing themselves a cost saving favor by running low grade fuels as it will simply cost more later due to valvetrain gunk buildup, early failing cats, etc.

Sunoco sells 94 octane, although I don't know if it has ethanol or not... 1 min later...a quick google search shows that it does. Looks like I'll be switching to Shell 91 myself.. damn ethanol.

Where in the GTA can you get higher than 91 octane? I'd love to try some ridiculously high octane fuel.
I've swear by Shell's 91. Been using it since I got my A4 and used 87 on my Mazda 3 when I had it last month. Not sure if it was just the bright yellow signs calling to me, or the wonderful advantage of getting Airmiles, or just that their gas stations always seem a lot less ghetto...
I used ESSO on my last fill up.... (was the only one gas station around at the time and I was running low). Can't wait till my tank is empty so I can feed my beast it's meat!

Sunoco has 94, but they won't be around much longer. Soon it will be Petro-Can that will be carrying the 94 Oct. Just got an E-mail Re the Sunoco/Petro Merger and they will have all of the Sunoco's either shut or rebadged as Petros within the next 10 months.

Has anyone else other then the 2 people that posted in this thread tried Ferox? Im tempted to try it but just want to hear other peoples opinion on it. I already only use 91 shell gas anyway but I would like to try this stuff for the extra HP and mileage.
