Question Catch pot sludge?

Since my installation of a catch pot 3 mths ago, I emptied my catch pot for the second time.
Apart from the collected 4oz of light brown liquid volatiles, at the bottom of the pot there appears to be real sludge?

Anyone else report on the contents of their catch pot?

Could this be the real stuff that eventually gets burned and caked into our lube system and engines?

I am currently using BSH Stage 2 system and have been catching a lot of crap over the winter months. Only oroblem is the CC is quite small.
All the sludge and unburned deposits make their way into the engine again creating problems.
Eurojet is another company that makes a CC also.

The catch pot was made up of parts purchased from Princess Auto (see my original post for details).

Where you put it depends on your model year, engine type, vacuum system and if it has been modified.

For example, my crankcase vents, via a PCV line into the catch pot and then to atmosphere. This was initiated after I streamlined the vacuum system, eliminated several check valves, the Pancake valve, looping the N245, with wastegate vacuum direct into the intake manifold (see my original post for details).

There are plenty of DIY write ups on venting the crankcase to atmosphere. Just do a search.

I can't help you much further because you need answers to all of the variables above before you need a catch pot.
