Brake Noises - '06 A4 2.0TM
Any of you experience noises coming from your breaks, very similar to when they're nearly worn out?
- I've already checked them out myself, and there around 50% gone, that's it. And it's commonly at lower speeds that the noise is produced, almost right before the cars comes to a complete stop, approx. from 10 or 20 Km/h to 5 Km/h, from their to a complete stop there's no noise.
-Second, If I'm just standing still, regardless if the car is on or not, if I pump the breaks I hear a squeaking noise (almost mouse like), and no I don't have a mouse stuck in my care somewhere. Mostly it's coming out of the front driver side tire.
Has anyone seen (heard) this before, and can suggest what it could be and possibly how to repair.
Thanks in Advance...

If this is the case, unfortunately upper class sports car's brake pads are notorious for producing sqeaking noises even if they are new brake pads; they're made without asbestos I believe (don't quote me).
They claim that it is a build up that's rubbing and the only way to rid of the noise is to give them a bunch of hard brakes or pay the dealership to put on a heating compound ($300 from audi). Mine only make the squeeking noise when they're cold.
This is just what Audi tells me so...

I have an 08 A4 quattro and I'm getting the same brake noise. I passed by the dealer and tomorrow they are going to put a compound of some sort to solve this problemand rid me of this noise for free.
From what i was told they are aware of this problem.

I had the same prob. i have an 07 Audi A4 2.0 Quattro. around 15,000-20,000kms of squealing around 5km to stopping point. then it was 10km to stop and so on. figured it was the cold weather and took it into the shop.. they said its natural with high metallic content. so i switched to these Hawks Performance Ceramic.
Hawk Performance: Performance Ceramic Brake Pads
Now i had no probs at all with same stopping power and less dust! reasonable price too.. only had to replace the fronts.
