Aux Input for MP3 Player

Aux Input for MP3 Player
Hi All,
I was wondering if there is cheap and easy way to simply plug in my phone or mp3 player to listen to music.
I have a 04 A4 with a Symphony deck.
I've seen a bunch of kits to do this but they seem to cost more than I want to pay. What I want is simple... just a 3.5 mm jack to plug into my phone/mp3 player. I don't need to control the devices from the deck, or anything special. I assumed there is a quick hack for this but I haven't found anything on it.
Does anyone know of a quick and easy solution?

Re: Aux Input for MP3 Player
No easy solution bud.
The only way to get aux to 3.5mm is to either hardwire aux directly into your stereo harness, or buy those kits. youre right, theyre not cheap. if your gonna dish out that much $$$ might as well get ipod controls with it.
If you want to try the diy, search audizine for a tutorial. search "symphony ii aux". diy will cost about 10-20 $$ depending on where you get your parts.
Im actually thinking about doing this as well, but i upgraded to a symphony ii+, and will need to recode but dont have a vag com.
If you have a vag com, id be willing to help you with the install if you helped me with the vcds.

Re: Aux Input for MP3 Player
This is only a power source for ubs devices, not an audio input. Not quite relevant. Did you just register to post an ads? Looks like you did...

Re: Aux Input for MP3 Player
LoL shady like midnight
Yea, one can definately go the fm transmitter or tape deck route. though the aux input is a low input, i feel the sound output would be better than the latter examples. and its cheaper if you know what to do.
Ps, can anyone in the gta region with a vag com help me open up the aux function on my symphony ii+? i have all command lines and a sixpack for anyone who can help.
