A4 vs sti
How do I beat wrx sti ?
not the driving skills or whatever, I just want more than what that has
I was thinking more like getting gt307...s? to make around 400 hp
anyone has b6 a4 with those big numbers? how much the cost?
How can I beat WRX STI (intake + exhaust)??
phew...

Re: A4 vs sti
???? And then? Get it supercharged? Yeah that isnt very cost effective, I think STI will take the S4.
Anyways with the A4, I would say you need to go BT get and the full setup and so on you are probably looking at $8-12k minimum for parts.
New Exhaust, intake, BT kit with hoses, fuel injectors, etc., a Custom tune for the ECU, and so on...

Re: A4 vs sti
You can make similar power in an Audi to a Sti ( 300HP/290lb/ft) but you need to overcome the weight differences. The STI probably weighs 500-600 lbs less than your A4 and the center of gravity is lower. I'm assuming you bought your car for the combination of sport/luxury/safety. That luxury and safety weigh down a car which impacts performance. Obviously a chip will help your engine come to life but you might also want to consider getting a light-weight set of wheels..... or take out the back seats

Re: A4 vs sti
i dont know if a chippe B5 S4 could do it easily. You would need more of a K04-15 set up on an S4. Our cars are fast, but they were not designed to be rockets. the turbo was added to get our fat ***' moving with a little 4 cylinder engine. its the speed junkies that have made it posible for our cars to go faster. The wrxsti was designed with speed in mind. You would have to start looking at the RS4 which is our done up version of an a4 which is inline with the sti version of the wrx.

Re: A4 vs sti
I've been searching for those who did BT on b6 a4...
Money matters...dang...
anyone suggesting step by step in order to make near 400whp?
I will start by changing internals + intercooler then clutch ....but
phew I need some inputs!!
(May be swap b5 s4 engine would be cheaper if possible?, but no NOS plz)
what can be done under 6 grand?
move1?

Re: A4 vs sti
Under 6 huh? APR Stage 3 is under 6 @ 340hp. However what I would do is a homebrew and yeah it will take some time but there is guys always selling kits on here turbos, hoses etc. Also try other forums and you can get a BT setup with all parts for about $3k and add exhaust IC and all that for another $2k with money to spare. The downfall to this is the parts are used, and be careful as some people have been ripped off. Figure out what you want and slowely order the parts and do the work yourself. If you want power soon then i guess an entire kit is the way to go. But for those who like to do bit by bit and save money the forum used sales is the way to go.
