3.0 engine base
So i had a little accident and broke off where the oil filter screws on......
i was woundering if anyone could tell me how to get the upper part of the base pan off so i could replace it (a diagram would really help too)
Thanks

Re: 3.0 engine base
Removing and installing oil pump
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t Puller -T10055-
t Locking pin -T40026-
t Drill bit, Ø 5 mm
t Sealant → Parts catalogue
t Locking fluid → Parts catalogue
Removing
– Remove sump (bottom section) → Chapter.
Caution
The engine must only be turned at the crankshaft, in the direction of normal engine rotation (clockwise).
– Turn crankshaft at central bolt on crankshaft sprocket in direction of engine rotation to TDC mark.
l Notch -1- should align with marking -2-.
– If fitted, unplug electrical connector at continued circulation coolant pump -V51-.
– Unscrew plug for TDC marking from cylinder block.
– Screw locking pin -T40026- into bore; if necessary, turn crankshaft backwards and forwards slightly to fully centralise locking pin.
– Remove bolts -3- and -6- and take out oil pipes.
NoteSome oil will come out when oil pipes are removed.
– Unscrew bolts -1-, -2-, -4- and -5- and remove baffle plate (front).
– Remove bolt -4- and take out balance shaft drive gear -3-.
– Remove diamond-coated washer from drive gear.
– Remove bolts -1- and -2- and nuts -5- and -6-.
– Screw puller -T10055- alternately into M8 threaded drillings -arrows- on oil pump, and pull oil pump off cylinder block.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
Notet Renew gaskets, seals and O-ring.
t Make sure to clean remaining locking fluid off threads of studs -3- after removing oil pump.
t This can be done using a thread tap.
– Renew O-ring -arrow 1-.
– Apply sealant around hole -arrow 2-.
– Renew bolts -1- and -2- and nuts -5- and -6- securing oil pump.
– Apply locking fluid to nuts -5- and -6- before installing.
– Tighten all four oil pump mountings uniformly to ensure that dowel pin goes in squarely.
– Tighten mountings to final torque.
– Renew diamond-coated washer on drive gear for balance shaft -3-.
– Insert flange of drive gear (for balance shaft) through chain sprocket and onto oil pump shaft.
– Screw in bolt -4- but do not tighten.
Note
To install drive gear, press back piston of chain tensioner using a screwdriver -arrow-.
– Wrap insulating tape around tip and shaft of 5 mm Ø drill bit to avoid cuts.
– Turn balance shaft -2- until a Ø 5 mm drill bit -item 3- can be inserted in locating hole.
– Tighten bolt -1-.
– Pull drill bit out of locating hole.
– Remove locking pin -T10026- and screw plug for TDC marking into cylinder block together with new O-ring.
– Install baffle plate (front): fit bolts -1-, -2-, -4- and -5-.
– Install oil pipes: fit bolts -3- and -6-.
– Install sump (bottom section) → Anchor.
