275/45/20 on an A4?

I don't think it would fit. I have 235's on my 04 A4, and they look huge!! I don't think the car can manage tires that wide. But that's my opinion.

Aside from it being unlikely they would fit (wheel size and offset being an unknown here), 275/45/20 is totally the wrong tire size for your car ! Seems to me you're off by approx 15% ... Tire Calculations

If you don't have modified wheel wells, such as the RS, now way 275mm would fit. Even if you raise the car (ugly BTW), your going to definitely rub when you turn your front tires.
If you're still interested in 275mm with 20", your wall or aspect ration should be 25 (not much rubber there).
However if you have stock suspension or even the OE upgraded suspension with your A4, and your keen on 20's, go down to 245 (or 235 with lowered suspension) 25 aspect ration or wall. you should be ok.
I have the upgraded suspension on my 2006 A4, with 245/35/19, and the tires flare out slightly from the wheel well.
good luck, but 275/45/20... no no... as Stevelev said, you'd be running 15-20% over. So when your speedo said 100Km/h, you're actually at 115-120km/h.
