2005 A4 FWD worn brake pad sensor
Just had this sensor light appear on front cluster display. Does anyone know whether this is for front or rear pads? What size pads does this car require (mm)?

The warning system is there to pretty much say get your brakes checked. When an inspection occurs, usually all four are checked.
The front brakes wear down faster than the rear brakes, so i would guess its the front brakes that have tripped the sensor light. But to be safe check the all out.
I have never thought of having exact measurments for brake pads. I just go in, explain what I want and they give it to me and they fit. The discs I do have measurements.
Fronts 288-mm X 25-mm Ventilated Discs
Rears 245-mm X 10-mm Solid Discs

The brake wear indicator is only on the front. It goes on when only 25% of the pad is left. You should get it checked but you probably have several thousands of KM's left.
I had the brake wear light come on last year. I had 25% of the pad left, I drove it like that for 4 months and then switched the brakes.... No problems....
I'd get it checked, but you don't need to rush into the shop today... And as midrange says, check them all, there are no sensors on the back.
