when they say warming up the turbo, they are refering to starting the car, giving it a few min to warm up where the rpms drop down to standard rev. right away you will find the car revs higher for a few min...then when you drive, just dont boost untill the car is warm.

Turbo charged engines require more warm up time, especially if you have a journal bearing turbo ie K03 or KO4. When you go into boost your turbo could be spinning at 100,000rpm plus, that high of RPMs cause heat, if you have nice cold oil and a nice hot turbo you are asking for trouble. You can drive the car, just dont stomp on it until the oil temp is up

u notice that your car gets very noisy at a cold start for the first 1:30 minutes because the cat and the turbo needs to get warmed up before moving along.
also this is a german car, and they require a higher temperature to operate fully.
