O2 Sensor malfunction when cruising at speed
Driving uphill in the mountains 120kph for 20 minutes or so the check engine light comes on. When I scan the fault it shows as O2 sensor circuit (malfunction bank 1 sensor 1 & bank 2 sensor 1) I can reset the fault but it returns when climbing mountain roads at speed. They are the sensors before the catalytic converters. left and right side.
I have an A4 2.8 quattro 1997
Does anyone know what would set this fault?
Thanks Kevin

Re: O2 Sensor malfunction when cruising at speed
Hi Doug,
There are 2 codes,
The first is VAG 16514, O2 sensor circuit-malfunction (bank 1 sensor 1) and it cross references to SAE P0130
The second is VAG 16534, O2 sensor circuit-malfunction (bank 2 sensor 1) and it cross references to SAE P0150
The O2 sensor Bank1 sensor 1 is in the exhaust manifold, right side ahead of the catalytic converter
The O2 sensor Bank 2 sensor 1 is in the exhaust manifold, left side ahead of the catalytic converter
