Default Looking for a decent mechanic in East GTA

Greetings Folks !

I'm looking for a good, non-expensive mechanic in Scarborough/Durham region to help with minor repairs (rotors, pads, spark plugs, control arms, etc) for my 99 A4/2.8...I'd do them myself if I had the tools and were a bit more handy man.

I went to Crappy Tire and they quoted me the following:

Replace spark plugs: $ 100 + Tax
Change rotors + pads (F+R): $ 240 + Tax

which I find ridiculous

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

Independent Tuning. Good/Honest guys. I paid $300ish for front rotors/pads. A co-worker referred Twins Autoworks, not sure how their service is though as I've never dealt with them.

Don't we all wish there was a good non-expensive mechanic?
FYI, you drive an Audi

Thx for the recommendation...still seems high for 1 hr worth of labor (at least in my opinion)

well... I drive an "Old Audi", that's why I'm looking at some labor cost-savings ...if I could have afforded a brand new one, I probably wouldn't have been on a tight budget...

I guess I'm still looking for that 1 man, small indy shop, type of guy, that used to work for an auto repair shop (preferably Audi/VW) and decided to make a buck on his own... (it could be a long wait though.. )...

Thx for the prompt response though, I'll check them out

No prob bud. You do make a good point about you owning an older audi. I would probably think the same way.

They slapped larger rotors on, but I do have to say the pads they put in aren't the greatest. Good luck, I'm sure someone knows another shop on this forum.

I have been dealing with Dave at Kelly and Sons 905- 683-1983.... they are on Finley Ave. (Bayly and Westney Road) area.

They were great on my 02 Highlander.....fixed what needed to get fixed and didn't hose me.

I have so much confidence in them, that I gave the truck to my son to take to College in Ohio. He comes back every 3 weekends (or when he runs out of money) the trip is 500 Km each way.

'02 Highlander with 275,000Km and still going strong.

Cool...thx for the tip, I'll give him a shout and see what comes out of it...

Oh, and I assume Dave also worked on your Audi, not just the Highlander

Heres an awesome shop, I have been there plenty and spoken with many of their clients, they are the real deal, inexpensive, caring down to earth. I have even met people that pay them when they could have had it done for free under the new audi maintenance at the stealership. No they are not paying me, I just know its nice to finally find a good shop. Worth the drive for sure! Attached is a page out of the local paper since they won they survey again. Read it.

Check him out...He fixes all makes and models and has the latest diagnostics tools. I would dare you to find cheaper than him for the quality work.
