flashing 2:00h on dash.... ??
was coming back from the city and noticed when i left it was showing the amount of gas being used according to the speed i was going, then about half way home i look down and that same display was now flashing 2:00h. i have been looking online and i can't seem to find an explanation for this.
concerned as i don't want to have any kind of breakdown as i do a lot of out of town work and most areas i'm in do not have proper repair facilities.
any help would be appreciated.
sorry my initial description might be confusing.... i'm talking about the digital display between the tach and the speedometer that shows your outside temp, amount of gas being used at current speed, etc.

Hehe, the button on the end of the right control stalk cycles through some of the MFD functions. The 2:00h is just the default time for the timer. Check your manual, or download a digital copy if you don't have one!

wtf??? seriously.... i realize they did it for safe driving. but is there any way to disable that option ? if i had to look at anything in that box i would prefer the usage per litre thing. not a flashing time... ugh, it makes me feel like i'm looking at someone's vcr.
i appreciate all the help, i did do a search on here before posting this and i know for some this is probably a dumb question. all i could find in my searches was about the vag-com and trouble codes.
also, the car has an aftermarket sony cd player in it that i do not like what so ever.... i'm going to drop in my alpine once the weather clears up. i have no idea if the car originally came equipped with a bose system. how would i find that out ? i no longer have the owners manual or any documentation that tells me what the car came with at time of purchase from the dealership.
would it be in the vin ? i ran that online and it just gives a general overview of what that year had or could come optioned with.... not specifically what my actual car has.

another question.... if it is a driving timer to take a break, how long does it take for it to reset ? i stopped for gas and then ran into the grocery store for 15 - 20 mins and it was still flashing when i pulled away.
i did turn/push the **** on the left of the cluster by the clock and it cycled through the icons but it didn't seem to reset anything. i did that once before i ventured out in the morning before this happened, then once after leaving the grocery store and it still did nothing....

Was on a five hour drive home yesterday and the 2:00h signal came up as well. I like this feature and it does remind me to consider taking a break. By simply pushing the end of the selector it goes away. Great feature to have.

how many know there is a button on the bottom of the wiper switch ? on my car it turns off the bottom portion of the cluster information window (where it shows what gear you are in)

Do you have trip computer stalk then or not. Trip computer stalk has a rocker switch on the end and a reset button underneath. Quick press of the reset button, cycles you through multiple modes, hold for 2 secs resets the display.

i only have the wiper arm.... on the very end of it is a switch that has an up arrow and a down arrow. and under is that reset switch you push in.
there are only 3 "stalks" on my column the left side has the turn signals and the lights, the right has just the wiper controls.
