Default Drive shaft ...Can I remove it 99 a4 quattro

Hi everyone,

I have a rear drive shaft that just started to be noisy on my A4 1999,5 1.8T quattro....I have to drive back home next week as Im a student and I live 1000 km from home ....

I dont want to run into problems and I would like to know If I can remove the drive shaft (its the right rear one ) drive back home and put a new one while I'll be there ? I'll have it done in a local garage...It would be only to go back home ...Not a permanent fix...

Not sure if someone can help me but that would be great...and very appreciated
Thanks a lot in advance

Pier

Also im in canada, and if someone has one to sell, PM me please

Could be a bad wheel bearing, if it were me I would chance it. A shaft shouldn't cost more than 150 and a bearing under 50.

It was a bearing . It cost me 275 to change in a local garage as I was away from home and could not do it myself...Thanks for the help!
