Brakes lock up randomly

Brakes lock up randomly
Something weird happens with my brakes and it seems to reflect on the temp outside. The past couple days, my brakes seem to need more force or feel looser. They almost feel like a different car's brakes. Than sometimes they randomly lock up hard when I'm breaking (at lower speeds). Winnipeg is warming up right now (hovering around -2) and this seems to happen just after I start driving it since being parked for a while.
It's like my brakes have a mind of there own! Please help
PS. Does this have anything to do with the ESP? When I press the ESP buttom, the light doesn't go on, hasn't since I bought it 4 months back.

Re: Brakes lock up randomly
As 1Move recommends, recommend to start with a Vag Scan.
Do you know when the last time the Brake Fluid was changed? Look in the reservoir and if fluid is anything other than clean opaque yellow, replace it. Typically dirty fluid starts turning green and may actually start leaving discolored deposits around top of reservoir and inside debris screen under filler cap. If green, this means fluid change has been left far too long and is contaminated.
The ESP light issue should definitely be investigated.

Yeah I'll give it a check. I had the brakes looked at during the safety and Audi also did some recent repairs on my brakes so I'm hoping they at least did their job
