Default Brake warning light in the dash has come on dimly.

Hello All. I was driving around yesterday and all of the sudden the red brake warning light in the dash started to light up dimly. When I pull the E-brake up, it comes on full brightness but when I put the lever down, it's lit up faintly. I've checked the routine things and topped up the brake fluid to almost overflowing but to no avail. I thought maybe it was a stuck float inside the reservoir so I disconnected the harness from the brake fluid reservoir to see if that was the culprit but it still stays lit when disconnected. I even went about disconnecting the ebrake switch harness but to no avail. If I were to scan it with VAG-Com, will a code show up when the dummy lights on the dash light up? Would the light stay lit until the codes are cleared? I don't have a lap top and it just happened yesterday so I don't want to have to pull the desktop out to the car to test unless it's worth it. Let me know if this has happened to any of you and what you did to solve it. Thanks in advance.

Doug

mmmm maybe its a faulty sensor and u might need to just reset the check with vag.com.

i had my o2 sensor throw a indicator light but after resetting it, everything is fine.
