When accelerating and my RPM is around 2000, I hear whistling; however it goes away if i go above or below 2000. Is that normal?

I don't know if its a turbo whistle. How do I tell? Also I don't think I have an intake on my car. Sorry I can't be more informative, I am a true novice at this.

Hi,
Exactly what kf said. A couple of things make me thing that it isnt. If it was the turbo making the sound it would only start at about 2500 RPM's and would carry to about 3500. If you had an intake this sound would be amplified followed by a whoosh (from the diverter valve). I dont think it would be a wheel bearing as that would be a consitant sound not relative to RPM's. This is a tough one without actually hearing it. Can you isolate where it is coming from?

I did a quick search on youtube for 'turbo whistling' sounds and it doesn't sound like that. It is more like a high pitched whistle.
