Awesome write up. Makes me want to get the Helix projectors for by B7.

Any idea if they are available? If so, where?
How much did you pay for yours?

Hi Darryl! I'm not sure if there are B7 projector headlights from Eurosport. It's an Ebay auctioneer where I got mine from. I don't exactly remember how much I got mine from, I think about $225-250CAN after shipping and everything. Im sure if you searched Ebay for "A4 B7 projector headlights" that there would be a few vendors who carries them. Just depends on the style, colours and option(s) you want but they range anywhere from $190-270CAN. The 55W VVME HID Kit I got directly from VVME's Ebay auction. Those were picked up for $60CAN including shipping and taxes.

Nice writeup, Mona. It's awesome to see someone install HIDs into actual projector housings! I can't believe how many A-holes there are driving around blinding everyone with HIDs dropped into factory housings

UPDATE!!!

I was stopped by a Burnaby RCMP earlier today only to be asked by the officer if I was the one in Audiforum.ca! He said that he recognized me and my car from the site. No tickets issued, just a lot of questions as he too was (luckily) an Audi owner and aficionado. I was forewarned that a crackdown on "illegal HID kits" will soon be in effect (early to mid 2011) in the Lower Mainland and parts of the Fraser Valley in BC. I have asked him to join the forum so we'll just have to wait and see if he does. Apparently, he and his collegues are long time lurkers in this forum as well as others (mostly the Canadian forums and/or threads).

EDIT: Take this (warning) for what it's worth!

Yup, LEO (Law Enforcement Officer(s)) from all walks of life regularly patrol forums; same goes for many insurance companies. In this day and age, it's always wise to watch what you say online - it's not often that I can't find a significant amount of information about anyone by searching the web.

I am glad to see them cracking down on non-projector HIDs, though. Mona, I fear that you may be lumped in with the non-projector clowns since you're aftermarket...

I was told that since I drive a Euro car and that the modification done to my car looked OEM that I shouldn't worry much. It's the ricers with their HID kits installed in non-projector casings with the 12000k bulbs that will mostly be affected (according to the officer). He also told me not to worry as I do not have my car all "raced out" looking and that (AHEM!) I am female!!!

How was I to know that you didn't have a different-coloured, 3-foot spoiler on the trunk, and mad neonz, yo?

Yeah, if your car is clean, then you're right. My car is modified top to bottom, but cops just gawk it because it's very cleanly done, with no rice whatsoever.

I guess the original plans for installing the triple bi-wing, chameleon paint job and the 22" dubs won't happen now yo!

Great write up, although a different model, i still used this as a general guide when i installed my HIDs , unfortunately, i could not fit the vvme ballast under my headlights there is a spot for a ballast there, but the vvme ballasts are to wide and wont fit
