DIY - Changing Breather Hose 06b103221(b/p)
I'm used to a massive DIY section from my old forums from the old car, with a DIY for everyone including the completely 'new to the garage' members. This being said I'm writing a write-up on how to change the breather hose, number 06b-103-221 (b or p). On terms of difficulty, I'd rate it a 1/10 if that.
Mine Looked Like this when I got it off (the damage was like that from the pipe (#2) position squishing it combined with age.
Tools Required
Screwdriver - For the worm gear hose clamps (#1)
5mm (3/16") Hex (I used a Hex Allen Key) - To move pipe (#2) for re-installation
Procedure
Step 1 - Loosen the three worm gear hose clamps from the breather hose. (this picture is of the new hose)
Step 2 - Remove old hose
Step 3 - Using Hex Key remove the bolt in this picture allowing you to move the metal line out of your way enough for installation
Step 4 - Clean up any mess (should look like this at this time)
Step 5 - First install the back end of the hose, then the closest end, finally the one on hose #2 which was moved.
Step 6 - Once all ends are in place, screw in the hex bolt holding hose #2 in place and tighten all worm gears and your done.
Time elapsed 5-15minutes
