Default LED stay on while using Indicators?

Hi there, I am a proud new owner of 2011 S4 premium. I noticed the LED lights turn off when the indicators turn left or right. With that said, will this decrease the life of the LED since it is constantly turning on/off every time you signal. I would imagine so.

Do you know or has anyone changed the coding from Audi dealers to keep the LED light on while the indicator signal is used.

Sure, the turn signal is more conspicous with the LED light off, but I don't see why the LED lighting can remain on while this happens.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I love this car! It is so smooth and the Sport diff and B & O are great add ons.

Hi there:

This is the setup on all "current" Audi models. When you signal your DRL goes off.

This is a very simple and quick vagcom change which almost virtually everyone I know has done.

I have the cable, if you're willing to drive to TO. I will do it for you. PM me.

Congrats on the car, however if you searched the topic you would have found numerous results.

The life of the LED's nowadays is tested for up to 100000 hours, which means if they were to run constantly thats about 11 years. They are just diodes and I agree the life span of them will decrease but not for the time that you have the car, you are more likely to upgrade before those go out.

Yes it can be programmed and yes I have done it numerous times before. The Signal light however is harder to see. I just like the LED's too much to care about the signal light

Just wanted to Thank Warcity for taking the time to do the Vagcom changes on my car. You were very helpful and appreciate you letting use your cable.

Thanks again!

Hi guys,
Today, my Mulfunction Indicator Light ( MIL ) stays on while driving! Is this urgent? I have a 2005 Audi A4.
Anyone with similar experience please comment!
Thanks!

You need to check those fuses are they working properly?

My LED's stay on even when everything is off and locked.
I had a problem with the fuse (water in the passenger side) my mechanic wanted to replace the loom but I discovered it was the window lock switch that was shorting. A replacement master switch fixed that but now the LED's, all of them, stay on and will not go off at all. Any ideas?
