Winter Tire size Help!! PLZ:(
Hey guys,
Im in desperate need of your help!
So, I recently posted on the classifieds page about a season old tires that I had on my 2010 A5 stock rims which were 245/40R18. I was told by the dealership they most likely would not fit on my new car so I didn't really do research nor think twice about them. They have been on there for a few weeks and its not getting much interest so I want to know if I could just save myself the trouble and money and put those tires on my new S3.
I have the stock 19" rims with 235/35R19 summer tires on them.
I would of course buy winter rims - preferably steelies but either way I need to know if I should even bother trying to get these to fit.
I really don't know much about offsets, brake profile(which im sure wont be a problem with 18"s) but I am here to learn with your help!
The S3's bolt pattern is 112x5 and Center hub is 57.1. So far with the tiresize converter I have learned that the speedometer would be off by a tad but I am not too concerned about that. Im more worried about the tire hitting the wheel well if i cut the steering all the way.
Thanks for your help in advance!!
I appreciate it
J.

You could maybe take the to local tire shop and have them dry fit the tire on the from wheel and go from there. Thats a wide tire for snow but I get the fact that you have the tires and they are new.
