Oil Change
New Guy Here!!! I'm up for my 16k oil change and i was wondering can do this myself? Mr Lube or Dealer? I've done standard maintenance on my old Civic but I don't want to screw this up. I mean i tried looking into my head lamp light and it looks like you'll need to remove some major pieces to get to it. I'm a cheap bastard and I don't want to pay the dealer $110 to change my oil.

Re: Oil Change
Firstly, I would check the conditions of your warranty to ensure that you don't render it void. I wouldn't take anything to Jiffy Lube; and, unless you ask, it's safe to assume that your dealer will put the cheapest (hopefully) approved oil in. Changing the oil (on pretty much any car) is about as easy as maintenance gets - buy the best oil/filter that is Audi approved for your car, and do it yourself!

Will advise that you use the search tool above for "OIL" threads. Plenty of information that might help.
Absolutely, do it yourself.!! Great learning experience.

Re: Oil Change
Barabas.. I have payed for my own synthetic oil, filter, and the drain plug was free.. At the audi dealership.. With taxes.. $55 .. I do mine every 5000k.. When it hits audi's service's turn.. I get it done for free because of the warranty and maintence package..

Re: Oil Change
Sorry for the delayed reply.. Yes, all dealerships sell the same supplies..The supplies was purchased last year for $55, havent got to my Milege on the next oil change yet.. Considering HST, probably went up to $58-$60 for Oil, Oil Filter and Drain plug.. As for Air filter, I didnt have to replace it, my car is new..
