Oil Cap Issues
Can anyone help me?
I have a 2006 Audi A3 with about 113k on it, recently I have noticed a milky creamy brownish to greyish colour on my oil cap. Does anyone know what this might be or what is causing it ? Thanks

Re: Oil Cap Issues
Most likely condensation (forming an emulsion with the oil).
When was the last time you changed the oil/do you make a lot of short trips?
How much of it is there/do you have a pic?

Re: Oil Cap Issues
Its been about 6k since my last oil change about 4months. I do alot of short trips since I work close to home as well I plan to do an oil change this week as well. The creamy greyish brownish cream is around the cap when I open it up to top up oil. I thought my car was burning oil not sure ?

Re: Oil Cap Issues
Most likely condensation, especially during cold weather. You'l hear differing opinions from mechanics (if its really bad some people are saying cracked block and etc...) but a little bit shouldn't be much to worry about.
