how the fwd handles in the snow
I live in Montreal and i'm planning on buying a used A3. For those who drove it in a winter do you think the awd provides a real advantage or the Fwd is enough ?

Re: how the fwd handles in the snow
Having had both FWD and Quattro Audi's I can say that the Quattro is far superior in the snow, and in the dry too. The car has quite a bit of power so it's easy to break the front tires lose when it's wet. With Quattro it just hunkers down and goes. If you can find a Quattro it is well worth it. In any case 4 winter tires are an absolute must.

Well for starters, there wont' be a lot of used quattros on the market as prior to 2009, only the 3.2L version had quattro and were far less popular than the 2.0T
As to winter wheels, since 2008, they are mandatory from Dec15 to March 15 for Quebec registered cars
