Help needed with tire/rim size
Hey Guys,
After hours of goooogling, I still cant find what im looking for ..
I currently have a 2010 Audi A3 .. My OEM tires on the A3 are 225/45/17 .. I recently purchased 16' oem audi rims (7JX16H2) .. Can anyone tell me what that code on the mags mean??? What tire can i put on it and will it actually fit on my A3 ?!
Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Help needed with tire/rim size
7Jx16H2 means the rim is 7" wide by 16" diameter. if you want to delve deeper on what the J and H2 mean, this explains it in more detail.
tirerack.com has an easy utility to help you pick your winter tires. but it's best if you talk to the dealer you bought the rims from and ask them what size tire the rim can accommodate.
i have 17" snows on mine so that's how far i can help. good luck.

Re: Help needed with tire/rim size
Didin't know about the gas lid .. But ill give that a look once I go pick it up! .. It should be ready for delivery sometime this week... Im pretty confident that 205/55/16 will do, However I have a feeling the offset might be off.. If im not mistaken, the winter rims I have, have an offset of 42mm .. The actual audi part # for the rims are 4f0 071 496 666 .. not sure if that help out ..
PS..the dealer cant even give me a straight answer..

Re: Help needed with tire/rim size
The tire has nothing to do with offset. if the rims fit, any tire will fit your car.
you are worrying too much. the rims are the hard part to fit due to brakes, offset, etc.
yours are A4 winter rims like these, correct?

Re: Help needed with tire/rim size
I called the dealer the 16" 5 spoke OEM for the A3 is 56mm offset. he said your choices are limited do to the special offset.
I'm just going to buy from the dealer. No happy about paying 800 bucks for winter rims but that's life.
