Does Audi allow importing their cars from the USA?

Re: Does Audi allow importing their cars from the USA?
A) Are you asking if you need an US address to purchase a car? If yes than no you do not as you will still have to get the car registered in Canada and pay duties, taxes and the Registrar of Vehicles...
B) Are you hoping to be able to keep the Audi PRE Owned warranty valid? If this is where you are driving towards, than I doubt it will work as the ownership has to transfer to a Canadian address if this is where you reside and plan to drive the car and the Audi used vehicle package will require the new ownership info?
So what is the nature of your question driving at?

Are you serious? What ta hell does your friend have to do with you buying a car? There is no savings having a friend in NY. The car has to be bought in your name and you may have to pay state tax depending on the state. Most states there is no tax as the car is destined for Canada. You will pay HST when crossing the boarder to Canada for us in Ontario. There are other fees and testing costs in Canada when bringing a car across. Be warned, not all cars are permited in Canada.

One question.
We all know that we can import "used" AUDIs if they are listed on RIV.
how about new Audi?
Are we able to purchase a new vehicle from Audi dealership w/o paying state taxes? (or do they even sell a new vehicle to Canadian?)
I am more interested in buying a new vehicle. If audi dealership in U.S. does not sell a new vehicle to Canadian, Can I buy one using my parent's U.S. address and import it right away?

Stuff I've read says US Audi dealers cannot sell new cars to Canadians, but you will really have to ask a US dealer that question. I expect your parents would be able to buy the car but that would have to include US taxes. You'd then have to get the registered owner stuff properly sorted in order import into Canada and pay whatever Canadian duties and taxes apply as well.
A slighly used CPO model from the US might be more cost effective overall.

Agee buy a CPO. To avoid state tax reduce your purchase list to states that do not require you to pay state tax. PA is one where a Canadian would pay no state tax. I believe Florida and Texas wil ding you for the state tax. When crossing the boarder you will be required to pay GST or HST depending on your province. I was at a hockey tournament not too long ago in Pennsylvania. I was killing some time and pulled into a VW dealer looking at a new CC. The salesman's opening line was "is that your car from Ontario?" when I replied yes he said " I can't sell a car to you". He would however show me something used. The warranty would not be transferable either for most cars. Good luck.

Do your homework and call dealers in several local states. As a Canadian you should not be paying a state tax. Some states are point of destination. In other words if the car is delivered out of state you don't pay state tax. Some states will make you pay however others will waive the tax. I have had several friends buy new and used cars fom the states and non have paid tax. Once in BC you will be subject to the full HST. let us know go you make out.

Hi All. I just imported an A6 from Virginia and did not have to pay state tax. I received a 3 day trip permit from the DMV there for the trip which cost me only $5 in total.
Once at the border I paid 6% duty and 7% GST (on the red book value, NOT the bill of sale price). MTO charged the additional 8% PST on the same value as customs (red book, not BOS).
