Cooling Fans will not switch off drains battery
My A3 2.0 Fsi 2004 is draining the battery the fans will not switch off any advice would be gratefully appreciated as it has been in a local garage for 4 days still no indication of fault from them .

Did the shop give you any codes? Have you had the car scanned to see what codes its throwing? Check the relay module, I think its #219? coolant temp sensor (2 of them) behind the motor or in the front by the radiator, 2nd the thermostat itself. And finally the Control fan module itself, sometimes water gets in there and shorts out the relay or the module craps out. I would start with the relay, hope that helps, and if you can please let us know what it came down to and took to fix. I can bet 100% its the relay or the fan control module.

Thankyou very much for your reply . I have been researching the topic for the last couple of days lots of different suggestions was getting quite confused until I received your advices. I feel better positioned now to discuss meaningfully with the garage . Will let you know outcome and hope its the relay , sounds like the least cost solution . Many thanks . Derek
