Default Adaptive light defective

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Yesterday the dash started to flash Adaptive light defective and it wont stop its a little annoying. It doesn't seem to make much sense to me , I cant see whats wrong. The light and rain sensor work fine. When in Auto the lights turn on and wipers turn on when it starts raining. Also when you start the car both headlights adjust them selfs, and when I turn the lights turn with the car because I can see them straightening out. So I am confused from what I understand one of these things should not be working. Or am I off and I should be looking at something else ??

Thanks

If there's no external fault visible, as in your case, then a VCDS scan is likely needed to find what self-test condition has failed; most likely one of the sensors for steering angle has failed but you need the error codes to be sure.

Hi Guys,

I haven't had time yet to go get it checked but yesterday I noticed when they adjust them selfs the one on the right only goes up and down it doesn't turn left and right like the one on the left. So I think its time to look for a new headlight unless these is a part I can replace . I am going to try and get the code read this week hopefully.

Cheers

i just got this same warning today for the first time.. Thought it meant the blinker but then all my lights worked fine.

I haven't noticed anything myself as the lights seem to follow steering input as usual. Don't have vag to check it yet (on its way soon)

Let me know if you find the causeof your problem. I'll try and post back as well if i find it

Hey I haven't gotten it checked out yet. But yes I have the same problem, when you drive and turn they will turn the only time that I see a difference is when I first turn the car on. The left headlight will go up and down then left to right where as the one on the right will only go up and down it wont do the left to right. Which is weird because like you said when I am driving i can see them both turn and then turn back.

Let me know what you find. I don't have a vag, but I am looking to get one. Just anything i have seen is 300 and up unless I am looking a the wrong one. Where are you getting yours from ?

Cheers
